Dems for repeal.

In the wake of the monumental disaster surrounding the rollout of Obamacare, many Democrats in both the House and the Senate are running for the tall grass. Senators from vulnerable seats such as Mary Landrieu of Louisiana are having particularly painful heartburn.

But I have a simple, straightforward and ultimately very effective way for Democrats to avoid having to hide.

Come out in favor of repealing Obamacare.

Of course, derisive laughter will arise from every Republican quarter. Rush Limbaugh will have a field day. Campaign ads will brim with charges of hypocrisy and flip-flopping. But for many Democrats, and perhaps more than is realized, that’s a small price to pay in order to save their careers.

In both houses, but especially in the Senate, Democrats should cobble together enough of their caucuses so as to form a veto-proof majority and go to their Republican colleagues and say, “We’re with you just this once. Let’s kill this thing,”

With 61 percent of the country – according to a CBS poll this week – now saying they disapprove of Obamacare, it’s a ‘can’t lose’ for Democrats.

It wouldn’t be an entirely bitter pill for the Democrats. Republicans are rather enjoying watching the Democrats squirm. Obamacare was a 100 percent Democrat creation and Republicans are quite content just now to let them stew in it. Democrats coming out in favor of repeal would rob the Republicans of their schadenfreude.

But in the end, Republicans would have no choice but to go along with Democrats in a repeal effort, even if doing so would have the effect of giving Dems some cover in the 2014 elections.

Good policy is good politics and the best possible policy is to get this horrendous law off the books as quickly as possible so that cleanup operations can begin.

There are many problems with the way that healthcare in the United States is currently financed – long acknowledged by the GOP – and some targeted legislation aimed at correcting some of those flaws would be welcome. Republicans are on record as having proposed a boatload of such legislation.

But what could not be proved in rhetorical debate prior to the passage of the Affordable Care Act is now being proved by actual practice. Wholesale annexation of healthcare by the federal government is simply not possible in any way that can actually work.

However bitter it might be for them to do so, Democrats can only do themselves good by acting to correct the mistake they made.

This role out is just the beginning of problems.

If this can not handle those signing up, just imagine how it will handle 100,00 claims of all kinds???

People do not have just one claim, they have several ie.’broken arm, skin laceration, bone fragments, eye injury, etc..

    This has to get worse.

Plus I talked to young people who they are counting on to ‘finance this”.

These folks say to a person that they will take the penalty….
after all “if something happens the hospitals have to take you no questions asked!!!

    Yeow.

    Run for the hills.

The democrats knew when this obamacare debacle was rolled out that it was unworkable because it was never intended to work. At least not in the way it was presented. The only reason that the democrats are now against it is because they are facing the rath of the VOTERS who are weary of this intrusion in a very important part of their lives…their healthcare. The voters have now found out what many of us tried to tell them before it was rammed down our throats, that obamacare was not at all about healthcare and it was not workable from the beginning! As a result they found out that obama has been leading them down a thorny path filled with lie after lie. Now the media is trying to salvage what credibility they have left and the democrats are just trying to save their jobs! By rights, every democrat who signed on for this debacle called obamacare, needs replacing if for no other reason than to prove a point…they work for US…WE, The people, not to blindly follow a corrupt and lying person who calls himself “president”.

Yes, it would be a smart political move for the Democrats to take the initiative to repeal this “lawless” law that was passed with extreme manipulation of our legislative and judicial bodies. However, when we watched the politicians in lockstep to achieve this most holiest of grails of the liberal/socialist philosophy, it was obvious that they were willing to go against the wishes of the American people. Just to think that they are within an eyelash of being able to control the electorate through the mandates of obamacare, these politicians will not cede this power grab easily. They will most likely try to distance themselves from this law by delaying tactics, harsh rhetoric, etc.; anything to get them through the next election. The biggest concern that we face is that the same voters who elected these politicians will be deceived again by these masters of deception; after all, another objective of liberals is to dumb down the population by ruining our public schools, which has already been accomplished. Additionally, many of these liberal Democrats represent constituents who are already completely dependent on government or in “safe” districts that will continue to vote for them, no matter what. How else can you explain the continued re-election of an air head like Nancy Pelosi; you know, the “we have to pass the law so that we can find out what is in it” genius. Also, let’s not forget about the lapdogs in the media, who will do everything in their power to protect the president and the “centerpiece” of his administration. Yes Paul, it would be smart for Democrats, especially red state Democrats, to initiate an effort to repeal this monstrosity; however, I am afraid that the unbridled power that they gain with implementation may be too much to resist. Let us hope and pray that their constituents will give them an earful when they are home for the Thanksgiving break! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
