For seven decades Elizabeth executed the duties of her office with uncommon grace and dignity.

At least the Brits admit there’s a problem.

There’s no money left in the U.K. and there’s no money left here. The only difference is that the coalition government is admitting as much in Britain while politicians on both sides of the aisle here in the U.S. talk of our dismal finances only in oblique terms.

Glory, no matter how great, is easily lost.

England was once the most powerful country on Earth. But the cost of fighting two world wars, and the resulting debt, knocked England out of first place, never to return. Therein lies a cautionary tale for the United States.
