The lopsided Democrats

I read an amazing statistic earlier this week at Real Clear Politics. The 46 states that are not New York, California, Massachusetts and Washington – i.e. four of the five bluest states in America, the fifth being Illinois – hold 80.5 percent of Electoral College votes. Donald Trump won 72 percent of those votes in 2024.

With that in mind, take a look at the county-level 2024 presidential election map above. That map is as clear a repudiation of the elitist condescension of top Democrats and their media handmaidens as you can imagine.

What the county-level election map shows is an ocean of red for Republicans dotted with some islands of blue for Democrats. It is graphic evidence of the fact that across the fruited plain – where our food is grown, our machines are manufactured, our energy is produced and where real people do real work – most people embrace the policies, ideas, and core principles of the Republican Party. That is, they embrace the traditional values of thrift, patriotism and hard work that built the greatest society in human history.

That county-level map clearly shows that Democrats dominate only in large urban areas, some sparsely populated rural counties, most of the Pacific Coast and the densely populated northeast Atlantic Coast.

The heartland – the home of normal Americans – belongs to the GOP.

And in that heartland – where those normal Americans work, feed their families, take their children to school, pay their taxes, and go to church on Sunday – Democrats are on the 20, 30 or 40 percent side of every 80/20, 70/30 or 60/40 issue. All while Donald Trump holds total command of the 60, 70 and 80 percent sides.

Normal Americans don’t want wide open borders that allow millions of poor, unaudited, largely unskilled illegal immigrants to flood into the country. Normal Americans believe that criminals should be arrested, tried and incarcerated. To normal Americans, allowing biological males to compete against biological girls in athletics (after suiting up in the girls’ locker room) is so obviously stupid that it shouldn’t even be a topic (as it wasn’t for oh, let’s say…forever). Normal Americans can tell the good guys from the bad guys in the war being waged against Israel and they support the good guys.

Unlike a prior generation of Dems, today’s Democrats are fighting Trump from the lopsidedly losing side of issues that really shouldn’t be controversial. It wasn’t always this way. Not that long ago there was substantial agreement between Democrats and Republicans on every issue set forth in the preceding paragraph.

Democrats are in deep trouble because they have allowed a comparatively small gang of loons to hijack their party. The media and elite Democrat poohbahs are all on board. But the folks on that map up above aren’t having it.

The president’s party traditionally loses seats in Congress in the midterm. If, given the Dems suicidal trajectory the GOP can’t buck that history, a generational opportunity will be lost.

I read an article today about how dominant FOX NEWS in cable news and primetime viewership. Almost all of the top rated programs are on FOX. MSNBC and CNN are awful, and the only people watching are the blue areas on your map. Two principles come to mind: the power of the dollar and the power of the vote. If we refuse to buy their BS or stop electing them to “represent” us, we will regain control of our future. We didn’t get here overnight and we won’t fix things overnight but we can get started!
