Democrats couldn’t care less.

YOU TELL ME TEXAS w/Paul GleiserDemocrats couldn't care less.

Democrats to this day out-poll Republicans when voters are asked a question containing words to the effect of, “…cares about people like me.”

“People like me” is generally assumed to be, “ordinary people of moderate means.” To the extent that the Democratic Party could ever legitimately claim to care about “ordinary people,” it’s abundantly clear that they don’t care now. Nor do they have any particular concern for the poor, to whom they never stop pandering, beyond that cohort’s historic propensity for reliably voting Democratic.

Democrats haven’t cared about “ordinary Americans” or “hard working Americans” or “less fortunate Americans” in quite some time. At least not in any sense that benefits ordinary, hard working or less fortunate Americans in any tangible way. In fact, it is quite the opposite.

The hard, cold truth is that Democrats care about only one thing. Expanding their power via the expansion of government.

This singular fixation explains the impasse over the partial government shutdown that has cut the funding of the Department of Homeland Security. That impasse is what’s causing massively long lines at airports as airline passengers wait for hours to clear TSA screening checkpoints.

Democrats want to kneecap Immigration & Customs Enforcement. They want to make it close to impossible for ICE to deport illegal migrants. Never mind that when you have between 10 and 30 million people – most of them poor – living in the country illegally, it puts downward pressure on the wages of “hard working Americans” and “less fortunate Americans.” It fills up the ER waiting rooms at local hospitals upon which our own “less fortunate” citizens rely. The children of illegal migrants crowd the classrooms of the children of those “ordinary Americans” who can’t afford to send their kids to private schools.

None of these – and many other – negative impacts on “ordinary Americans” matter to Democrats. That’s because illegal migrants perform two increasingly essential functions for the Democratic Party. First, they expand the populations of blue states. Census numbers affect the allocation of the 435 seats in Congress. When a better off resident of a blue state like California who can’t take it anymore decamps for Texas, illegal migrants help to offset that loss and thus the apportionment of Congressional seats. This is becoming a survival level issue for Democrat office holders.

The second thing that illegal migrants do is expand the welfare rolls, through which Democrats distribute federal money. Beyond buying votes, much of that torrent of money helps fund the corrupt non-governmental organizations with noble sounding do-gooder names and mission statements. Most such NGOs accomplish essentially none of their mission statement goals. But they do lavishly compensate their top executives while donating generously to Democrats. Think ‘taxpayer-funded money laundering.’

So, “ordinary Americans” about whom Democrats constantly purport to care stuck languishing in airport security lines for hours is acceptable collateral damage.

Bottom line: Democrats don’t give a flying damn about “ordinary Americans.” They care about retaining their perks, power, prestige and money. It’s weapons-grade cynicism.

And you’re paying the bill.

The talking héads that populate the Democrats today are as far removed from ordinary, hard working, less fortunate people as a great white shark from a goldfish. And so are most of the voters in America. They are on the wrong side of EVERY common sense issue today. That is why the SAVE act is THE most important law at issue today. Voter fraud and manipulation have been problems for years. If idiots are allowed to vote it goes to reason they will elect other idiots to represent them Anybody that has studied history knows what power does to people. Greed toppled them ALL! The Democrats are led by the policies that governed the worst ones. Winners and losers are not chosen by the rulers. Only when the oppressed have banded together and risen up to overthrow the evil rulers have humans thrived. North Korea, Cuba, Russia and China should be closely watching Iran.

DEMOCFRATS OR REPUBLICANS ARE NO DIFFERENT. THEY SPEND A LOT OF MONEY ON THEIR FAVORITE IDEAS AND PROJECTS. IT IS WHY THEY CAN[T GET ANYTHING DONE. BOTH PARTISAN GROUPS ARE A SHAME AND DISGRACE. AM 80 AND ONCE WAS IN A CIVIL RIGHTS MARCH WITH DR. IRA BENJAMIN LOUD. IN DALLAS WE GOT ALONG THEN

I continue to be completely and utterly speechless as to why a person would vote Democrat on any ballot in this day and age.
But, with that said, millions of people trust the Legacy networks and social media lies. The cancer called Progressive Globalism continues to grow and spread across our Country. The “Rule of Law” is no longer a bedrock of our society either. These evil people cherry pick the laws they wish to apply at the time; damn the Constitution. President Trump needs to wrap with this conflict with Iran and bring the troops home to clean up this debacle of insurrection and treason.
A book everyone on this blog needs to read is: “The Coming Insurrection” by The Invisible Committee.
This book explains just about everything happening to us all across our conflicted land.

Great “You Tell Me” Paul. One of your best. I like what Charles Barkley had to say about it, the only time they care is every four years when elections come around, but there are a few in the GOP I could add to the list too, Alaska, Kentucky and one in North Carolina come to mind. Trump is doing a lot of good things, don’t believe, listen to part of any of his speeches and he’ll tell you. I can only listen to about five minutes. We need somebody like him to get things done, but somebody like Reagan to get the message out. Don’t know about you, but every time I check my texts, I’m bombarded with texts from half the party asking for money. I’m a retired military enlisted man who gives to candidates that I feel deserve it, after seeing how money is distributed to some, I only give to individuals.

Have you noticed that when you give to one or two of your favorites, you get bombarded by others with their hand extended. I get emails and texts faster than I can delete them.

  5. Mr. Gleiser, as always thank you for your editorials. I sent a copy of your last editor to Senator John Thune in D.C. Interestingly, it is felt that each letter to a congress person represents the views of approximately one-third of his/her constituents. Many letters to Congress do address the economy and finances. Russian scholars say the U.S. will eventually divide along the Mississippi River with the democrats to the east and republicans to the west. Let’s pray the economy never brings us to that point.

Many would probably agree that an eventual split in the United States will likely occur. However, I am afraid it won’t be a geographic split, but another ideological one. We are already well on the way, and the Democrats are mashing the gas pedal to the floor!!

      • Darrell,
We have seen many critical times in our country; however, the kinds of differences today do seem more daunting than in the past? You recall the statement: “Burn Boston thou it makes John Hancock a beggar” or George Washington praying on his knees in the bitter cold at Valley Forge. Were those difficult times and solutions more extreme than ours today? Time will tell. Thank you for your comment.

        • Mike says:

The one huge difference in today versus the past is the “internet”! These radical groups can coordinate their efforts in a moment’s notice through social media, and they are much more well-funded than in GW’s days. PLUS, these people do not want to assimilate into the American Culture. This is a cold war of Globalism eating away at the fundamentals of American Culture. Democrats don’t give a rip about you or I, all they want is power and our money. There is no such beast as a Moderate Democrat anymore ( I would love to see the Blue Dog Democrat of the 70’s ).

        • After a bitter winter cold at Valley Forge where many (up to 2,000 or so) froze to death, it seemed unlikely such a group would ever amount to much. However, by the grace of God, history surprised everyone. I believe the following statement: “Man decries. but God decides”.

Did the Democrats care about the hundreds of thousands of migrant children who went missing during the Biden Borderlessness Bonanza? Hard “no.” So much for the “Democrats are compassionate” narrative. And you are correct that they demonstrate no more concern for the American public, except as they are assiduously concerned for whatever they think will bring them electoral benefit.

  7. You are correct, and it’s hard to believe that such was the case. Thankfully, times have changed.
