It is fashionable on the Left to characterize anything having to do with Donald Trump, the Trump administration, federal law enforcement under Trump, the Department of Justice under Trump’s attorney general or any other Trumpian thing to which the Left objects – which is to say everything – as a manifestation of Naziism.
It happens so often as to have become cliché that Trump is compared to Hitler. Immigrations & Customs Enforcement is routinely compared to the Gestapo. In their never-ending quest to delegitimize and cancel Donald Trump, the Left attempts to invoke mental images of the most profoundly evil regime of the 20th century.
Or was it?
An often-unappreciated historical fact is that as bad as Germany was under Hitler, Russia under Joseph Stalin was far worse. Depending on which source you choose, Hitler is credited with murdering 25 million people. But that number pales when put up against Joseph Stalin. Historians put the number killed by that murderous tyrant at more than 100 million.
When you boil down Naziism and communism you come to understand that they are two sides of the same coin. At their core they both operate from the belief that certain large portions of the population have no right to exist. For the Nazis, that belief is based on race. For the communists, it’s based on class.
And in both ideologies, the state has total control over all aspects of society.
Leftists are willfully blind to an inescapable fact of human nature. You cannot exert total economic control over a population without state coercion. Force takes the place of individual choice and the natural signals of a free market.
It is always the case that political monopolies breed fear among the monopolists. A single ruling party cannot allow rivals, free media or political opposition without risking collapse. Fear and repression thus become the tools of regime survival.
And as the beleaguered citizens of repressive communist regimes like those of the Soviet Union, Cuba, China and Venezuela learned in equal measure to the citizens of Nazi Germany that preceded them, with the courts, churches, media, industry and civil society all absorbed by the state, there is no restraint on state power. Abusive repression follows as night follows the day.
Yet as today’s leftists jibber and prattle and demonstrate and act out about the latter day Naziism they claim to deplore, they never denounce communism. Instead, they embrace the Marxism that unleashed communism. University course catalogs and faculty lounges are filled with classes and professors that glowingly present communism as the brass ring of human societal evolution. Leftists in academia, media and popular culture defend communist regimes like Cuba and Venezuela while managing to completely overlook the horrific numbers of people those malign regimes have killed.
Anyone who compares Donald Trump to Hitler knows nothing of either Donald Trump or Hitler. Anyone who denounces Naziism while supporting or even being willing to countenance communism understands neither Naziism nor communism.
Bottom line: today’s leftists are not only wrong, they are also shockingly ignorant.

Yes, a lot of these folks truly are just breathtakingly dumb, but I think you’re giving underserved credit for a weird form of honesty to the majority. These aren’t Democrats, they’re communists. These are people who are fully aware of (and many are proud of) what Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot and others did. These are zealots hoping to get in on the ground floor of a revolution and make their bones, to swipe a Mob term. They are hoping to impress their peers and revolutionary competitors, and no word will ever escape their lips that doesn’t support The Party. The infinitely-variable version of morality they possess isn’t connected to any fear of Hell, but rather the basic human fear of getting left out when the victorious revolution passes out power. Let’s not be too forgiving of what these guys and gals are. They know history too, and they’re licking their lips for modern gulags.
Right after WWII was over then General Dwight Eisenhower was encouraged to take pictures of the devastation Hitler caused. At first he didn’t want to but those around him encouraged him to do so that NO ONE could come up and say THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. There are people today that say the murder of millions of Jews did not take place! People who embrace naziism, communism and the rest of those “isms” have no clue what they are embracing! It is like trying to hug a rattlesnake and expecting it not to bite you!!!
A cousin of mine went to see where millions of Jews were slaughtered. What they did to the bodies was horrific! They used those bodies as fertilizer! It is so horrible one can not wrap their brains around what was done. You have to wonder if these idiots embracing this sort of thing really know WHAT they are embracing. I doubt very seriously if they do or if the ones “teaching” it does either.
It’s amazing how much history people can either deny or ignore when it gets in the way of what they think of as a great idea. It’s like that guy you all know who’s been divorced five times but goes ahead and marries the stripper anyway, because “this time’ll be different!”
The “RED-GREEN Alliance” represents the world-wide Left that embraces a One World Government. They have already succeeded in combining Radical Communism with Radical Islam [the dictatorial Sharia Law that is deceptively camouflaged as “religion”]. This “Alliance” is NOW continuing the “unrestricted” declared WAR on Western Civilization by targeting the United States after already sweeping Western Europe through unrelenting and government sponsored mass migration of sworn enemies of our Judaeo-Christian heritage.
This heritage is the foundation of our Civilization based on God-given rights to individuals that can NOT co-exist with the rule of tyrannical government. This is why our Patriotic America First movement to conserve Western Civilization is attacked as Racist Nazi-ism in order for the Global Left to claw their way to ultimate power to wipe out individual Liberty from the face of the Earth. The final battle goal of the Left is the ultimate defeat of America as they follow the same path that has already succeeded in destroying Western Europe.
Several years ago, in my doctoral work at Texas Tech, our class had to write a paper titled: “How is Today Like the Middle Ages”? I’ve never forgotten the class. In 732 A.D., Charles Martel saved Europe in the Battle of Tours. Then is 1683, John Sobieski saved Europe the second time in the Battle of Vienna. During the Constitutional Convention in 1787, Ben Franklin answered a question by Elizabeth Powel. Franklin supposedly replied: “We’ve given you a Republic if you can keep it”. One of the most important elections in our time is upcoming soon. Let’s put out the word for everyone to vote. Every one vote is important.
