A liberal journalist’s full confession.

Paul GleiserA liberal journalist’s full confession.

Uri Berliner is a senior business editor at National Public Radio – NPR. He has been there for 25 years. This week he did the unthinkable. He pulled back the drapes, threw the windows open wide and let disinfecting daylight shine into the newsroom at NPR.

In a Tuesday Free Press article, Berliner gives up the game on what is still called “journalism” in America.

That someone like me might be critical of NPR isn’t particularly noteworthy. But Berliner’s article is especially noteworthy because of his inside status and because of his self-description as a Sarah Lawrence-educated, Subaru-driving New York liberal. “I fit the NPR mold,” he says. “I’ll cop to that.”

Give the man props. I have met few liberal coastal elites capable of such personal insight.

In his amazingly detailed and candid essay, Uri Berliner blows the whistle on the left-wing bias that guides every important editorial decision at NPR. As an example, he admits that NPR went all in on the Russia collusion story solely because they thought it would hurt Donald Trump. Here he is on Bari Weiss’s podcast called, “Honestly.”

After a while we started covering Trump in a way like a lot of the legacy news organizations – that we were trying to damage his presidency. Anything we could to harm him. And I think what we latched on to was Russia collusion, like a lot of news organizations, which was, as I write, sort of catnip, although it was just rumors and a lot of it based on pretty shoddy documents or evidence. It wasn’t really solid. But I think it was compelling.

In other words, they just couldn’t help themselves.

Berliner further admits that for as much as they wanted to damage Donald Trump, they on the other hand didn’t want to damage Joe Biden. So, they made a purely political — as opposed to journalistic — decision to ignore the Hunter Biden laptop story.

Berliner’s piece has muzzle velocity. It’s nothing short of a full confession.

But the real story here isn’t NPR per se. It’s American brand name journalism in general. Take Berliner’s story, and wherever NPR appears, substitute any of ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, the New York Times or the Washington Post. The story still stands up.

Berliner’s essay gains significance the more you think about it. It does nothing less than help explain why we, as a society, are at each other’s throats.

It was Thomas Jefferson who said:

It is to me a new and consolatory proof that wherever the people are well-informed they can be trusted with their own government; that whenever things get so far wrong as to attract their notice, they may be relied on to set them to rights.”

But journalism in America has abandoned the mission of helping the people be well-informed and has taken up political activism instead. The horrifying results are now on display.

To be sure, Uri Berliner is still a coastal liberal. But give him credit.

He’s at least honest.

Here is the Big Fat Ugly in the room; where is this story going and what is it going to accomplish in today’s world?
We have known of many complicit stories a.k.a Hunter’s Laptop, and what has become of it to help correct the sorry state of affairs with the news? Nothing.
It is good to know; yes. BUT, consequences of complicit, outright illegal activities on the part of the major News Agencies? I think, personally, in a perfect Justice is Blind legal world, everyone and everyone who allows illegal activities to occur on any level or helps facilitate those illegal activities through lies or overt collusion should be prosecuted and thrown under the jail to be forgotten until their fossilized bones are dug up a million years down the road.
BUT, Hey, we live in a world of illegal is legal and those of us who try to do right are wrong. So what do I know.

It’s all about the Benjamin’s in politics these days. After serving elected/appointed offices to their desire, they transition to the media/defense/lobbying positions zto ride the government money train into oblivion. If they are ever caught by the wrong side they switch teams and continue the ride. Occasionally poachers creep in and bag a “kill” like Stormy Daniels, Christine Ford or Michael Cohen. Meanwhile, George Soros, the Koch brothers, Jeff Bezos and other billionaires keep funding the insane progressive movement. I was raised to believe anything worth doing is worth the effort to make it happen and you were proud of the accomplishment. Long ago children were shown to just show up and participate and you will be equally rewarded. They take out thousands of dollars for college for useless degrees we have to pay back. Now those same children are DEMANDING to be paid $20 for the minimum amount of work, and could care less about the results. We have allowed ALL of this and we are the only ones that can change it.

I took a job as a Junior in High School (which lead to a wonderfully productive career ) at the then Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation for $3.10 an hour. Minimum wage back then was $2.75 an hour or something along those lines. I thought I had died and gone to Heaven to make that amount; plus working disasters got me over time at time and half; a whopping $4.65 and hour. Was I ever glad to get that amount of money!!!

Course this maybe just wishful thinking or perhaps something else…BUT if we could or would go back to how our FOUNDERS wanted this government to run, there would not be the problems we have today.

The problem today is just what Mr. Durham said…all about the Benjamin’s. Why do you think pelosi and all her minions have stayed in office as long as they have? The turtle is worth believe it is over $38 MILLION and no telling how much pelosi is worth and it wasn’t her husband’s smarts that got them where they are today! Do you think that they would be there now if the FRAMERS had their way. People from all walks of life would VOLUNTEER their time and then go back to what ever they were doing before DUTY called. YES! DUTY!!! Has everyone forgotten that the people we ELECTED to do a JOB FOR US, the PEOPLE, work for US! Not the other way around. You think that pelosi would have ever stayed and not been PAID??? Or any of the other members of Congress? NOT ON YOU LIFE!
Look at that airhead aoc! She couldn’t have gotten an apartment until she got PAID because she was BROKE! Just go check and see how much she is worth now! It would make you SICK! These people must think money grows on TREES the way they spend it and what they spend it on! It sure isn’t for WE, THE PEOPLE.
For YEARS I have voiced my opinion of what minimum wage SHOULD be and the reasons for not inflating it to $15 or $20. Now people are seeing that one of my heroes Professor Walter Williams was right that an inflated minimum wage does nothing but INFLATE prices or put people out of business. Professor Williams was indeed a VOICE OF TRUTH! We should have taken him seriously. If we had, biden may not have gotten into office, spending would not be what it is…putting us, our children, their children and their children etc into impossible debt. We are NOT the world’s piggy bank as the left believes! Oh, and JOURNALISM died YEARS AGO!

Well, it happened. This guy has been suspended for 5 days for this confession. Bet that five days turns into forever.
God forbid a Progressive rat outs their Marxist ideology.
