Far from moderate. Far to the left.

Paul GleiserFar from moderate. Far to the left.

Do you remember how Joe Biden was sold to us as the experienced, sober, nice-guy moderate? Democrat party elders, the media and a considerable number of squishy Republicans were happy to tell themselves that Ol’ Joe was just the man to reduce our four year-long fever brought about by the toxic presence of Orange Man.

Of course, we now know that was a fantasy. A lie, actually. The Biden administration is by no stretch of the imagination or of the English language – tortured as it is by the Left – a moderate. As an example, we have Biden’s nominee for Comptroller of the Currency – the top regulator of banks.

Saule Omarova grew up in the Soviet Union and got her degree from Moscow State University on the Vladimir Lenin Personal Academic Scholarship. She is an outspoken proponent of Soviet-style communism.

In her writings, she has advanced the idea that wages, asset prices, capital and credit should be set, overseen and allocated by the federal government. That is to say that the Federal Reserve would have the authority and the mandate to govern everything from how much money you can borrow and for what purpose all the way down to how much your neighborhood grocery store pays its employees.

If confirmed as Comptroller by the Senate, she intends to have the Federal Reserve take over bank deposits – effectively “ending banking as we know it” (her words). Ms. Omarova believes that the Federal Reserve should become, “the ultimate public platform for generating, modulating, and allocating financial resources in a modern economy.” (I can’t wait until the federal government starts “modulating” things. How about you?)

She believes that capital and credit should be overseen by a “National Investment Authority” comprised of unelected bureaucrats and academics. On the list of her priorities for the National Investment Authority will be the mandate to finance a “big and bold” climate agenda (her words, again).

But wait! There’s more! Ms. Omarova wants to create an independent “Public Interest Council” consisting of “highly paid” academics (her words, yet again) charged with broad subpoena power to oversee the existing financial regulatory agencies – including the Fed. As she envisions the “Public Interest Council,” it will not be subject to the “constraints and requirements of the administrative process” (even more of her words). In other words, utterly unaccountable to the citizens who both pay for it and suffer under the unintended (and likely horrific) consequences that will inevitably arise from its diktats.

By his words, Biden says he’s a capitalist. But this nomination tells us otherwise. No one committed to free market capitalism would countenance the public statements of Saule Omarova as a nominee to oversee the American banking system.

In their towering arrogance, Ms. Omarova and her ilk believe that you and I have neither the right nor the intellectual capacity to run our own lives and allocate our own lawfully earned capital as we see fit.

By no stretch is that anything remotely resembling “moderate.” This administration is surpassing the Woodrow Wilson presidency as the most far-left in our history.

If you’re not afraid, you’re not paying attention.

Khrushchev must have been a visionary. He said (paraphrasing) that communism would take over the west from the inside. All very scary!

Paul, you always say what hits a nerves. Our country is in trouble, and we patriots and veterans must do something. Nov ’22 may be too late. Keep up the good work young man. Mr. McLendon would be proud. Glad to call you a friend.

For better or worse, (presumptively worse) it is apparent that Joe no longer has the intellectual range to track, much less to control what is being done in his name. And, yes, I am more than a little concerned too. Hopefully we won’t reach the point where the public policy structure is just too ridiculous on its face to have any credence for the average citizen. Sounds like some want to go there and we’re too close already.

Next he will have one of his visionary wonks want to nationalize the Oil and Gas Industry. That’s worked out so well in Mexico and Venezuela (I still wish there were a sarcasm font for e-mail!).

The whole Biden administration is made up of Marxists as proven in the book American Marxism.

Great to be back in beautiful East Texas! This administration is packed with Leftists by Leftists, as Joe is just a bystander. It is very scary, but nothing more frightening than the poll that shows 92% of Democrats approve of how this administration is performing. If this statistic is accurate, we are in deep do do!

Lets face the facts, we are dealing with Principalities that are given dominion over the earth. Us ordinary humans do have power and can deflect some of their offensives to subjugate us; but. In the long game they will temporarily win. But, I for one, will not give in to anything Left, Progressive, evil, subversive, or democratic. I am sure they feel the same way about me (us). So be it. This woman is nothing more than a cog in the Principalities machine of evil. If we do get to make a difference in November 2022; we MUST do so. Stay alert, stay aware, keep up with the news (how about those hypersonic missiles the Chinese are testing), learn to grow a garden, shoot a gun, cook, and read the Bible and understand what it says. Interesting how the Bible tells the very story of what is happening today. As King Solomon once said, “Nothing under the sun is new….”

Yes Michael, we need to do all of the things you are suggesting, as well as make sure that voting procedures are rectified to make voter fraud more difficult. I would like to know that the “Covid accommodation” aka “voter fraud” has been remedied so that we can have faith in the outcome of the mid-term elections. It makes me very nervous to see these self-appointed experts boast about how the Republicans are going to dominate; however, they fail to identify any significant safeguards to prevent a replay of the last election. Is there any doubt that there will be variants of the virus all the way to the Omega variant? I can hear the CDC now: “we cannot jeopardize the health of our citizens who are trying to exercise their constitutionally protected right to vote”. I can also hear the mail boxes and other “boxes” being filled with unsolicited ballots. When leaders of the Democratic Party can pontificate, without giggling, that requiring voter I.D. is voter suppression, you know they have no ability to feel shame.

Based on much conservative philosophy I’ve heard over the years of all the wonderful opportunities in our country and all have same opportunities etc, it’s just what you do with it,and considering the wealth gap as it’s called continually expanding, poverty levels and so on,maybe many Americans don’t particularly have intellectual capacity to manage their finances or make better choices. People are often blaming someone else or thing for their circumstances , never looking in the mirror. Basically we all should more or less should be middle class we just have to want it bad enough and not expect someone to hand it to us.
